Many businesses consider only the hard cost of document production, the devices themselves, unaware that a greater expense may be mounting with every printed page. In addition psychical storage costs, inappropriate outsourcing, equipments suitability for the task that it is being ask to do and staff productivity are all often overlooked or seemingly invisible due to the size and complexity of modern organisations.
These hidden costs represent a large percentage of operating expenditure. IKON’s auditing teams deploy a myriad of sophisticated tools and procedures to offer you total transparency across your organisation allowing you to understand, analyse and rationalise the cost of document production organisation-wide.

| Implementering |
The majority of organisations have:
- Limited knowledge of their document related hardware assets
- No knowledge of print, copy, fax and outsourced document volumes, user practices and most
importantly costs
- No knowledge of the most appropriate technology to address their needs
- Failed to effectively implement an effective document strategy
- Failed to gain maximum productivity from document technology
- Failed to manage paper and electronic documents effectively
Document workflow assessments enable you to understand your current position, and identify and prioritise process improvements.
The objectives of these assessments are to identify:
- All customer devices that generate document output
- The location of all such devices
- The volumes and costs of output produced by these devices over an agreed time period
The same approach can be extended to assess all hard copy document storage cabinets, their locations, capacity utilisation etc.
In the course of a site audit the following information will be recorded for every device including:
- Device type e.g. copier, printer, MFD
- Company asset ID number
- IKON unique reference number
- Serial number
- Make and model of device
- Start and end meter readings
- Department usage
- Any further customised information can be included as required
